FIALKA JACK-FLESH

Fialka Osean Jack-Flesh is from the Mowachaht tribe in the Qu-Yuquot area and Irish on her mother's side and is English, Scottish, Welsh, German on her father's side. She aged out of care in 2012 and is/has experienced homelessness. She is a kind and courageous advocate with the courage to tell the truth. She has testified on the youth panel for the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

QUINTIN COURTOREILLE

Quintin Courtoreille is in his first year at Thompson Rivers University in the Bachelor of Fine Arts. He is a “jack of all trades” artist but is mainly interested in drawing, writing and cooking. His passions in life are art, both doing it and enjoying it, travelling, learning more about anything because he is always curious., and helps people however he can.

HALEY HODGKINSON

Haley Hodgkinson is a youth with lived expertise in mental health, substance use and harm reduction, and hidden homelessness. She has been working with children and youth since 2015 and is passionate about elevating voices, promoting wellness, and advocating to improve the services children and youth access. Haley is very motivated and works hard to make an impact wherever she goes. She loves working from a strengths-based approach and often highlights the importance of "nothing about us without us". Haley is grateful for the opportunity to make a difference every day and truly feels she is fulfilling her purpose in this world with the work she does

ANGELL OLSEN

Angell Olsen has been passionate about non-profit work since high-school and got involved with A Way Home Kamloops when Katherine saved her from homelessness. She first started as a volunteer for two years later then was hired on as a Youth Advisor. As a young Two-Spirited individual, she was adopted and saved from growing up in an unsafe home environment. In her spare time she enjoys beading, content creating, reading, long-boarding, painting, and various other hobbies.

MELANIE HEDCH (She/Her)

Mel Hedch is a former youth in care with a passion for justice and change. Her strong belief in advocacy drives them to empower marginalized individuals and collaborate with decision makers using their lived expertise. Mel’s journey has led them to prioritize validation and trauma informed practice grounded in the understanding of their transformative impact on paving the way to a more equitable society.
